DO

• ask if the company has Public & Employer Liability Insurance
• ask if they are members of a trade association, and ensure you see proof
• keep an eye on all work and if there are any changes to what has been agreed, deal with them immediately and face to face
• agree firm start and completion dates, and details of any action you need to take to allow the installers to do their job
• make sure your choice in terms of colour and design is understood by your installer

DON'T

• agree to anything before you see references from previous customers and details of where this work can be seen
• place an order without receivng a written quotation, with any amendments agreed
• accept vague timings for the start and finish of the job
